Mark David Jones, 34, died instantly in an accident early Saturday morning, December 7. Mark was born August 5, 1968 in Los Angeles. He moved to San Francisco in 1986 to attend SF State, fell in love with The City and never left. Mark was a media buyer for OMD USA.
Mark was a great lover of people and of music. He believed people are stronger and better when together and that they should gather at every opportunity. His house in the Castro was the heart of a body of loving friends. He loved sharing his favorite people, always connecting his friends, family and co-workers in endless combinations. He leaves us all with a rich web of strong relationships.
Mark had boundless enthusiasm for life. He was always available with wise words and an open heart for a friend in need, loved to make new friends and share music, food and good times. His unwavering honesty made him the best kind of man, one who never disguised himself or held anything back. He was the same person with everyone who knew him, and that integrity made each of his relationships memorable, genuine and part of a larger story.
Mark is survived by his mother Annemarie, father Ron, sister Meghan, grandmother Roberta, a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins, plus countless friends whom he also loved like family.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 14, at Arthur Sullivan Funeral Home, 2254 Market Street. Reception to follow.
